Construction Points And Attention—PE pipe for drainage

Construction Points:

1.Construction process: PE drainage pipe construction process includes pipeline measurement, pipeline clearing, pipe trench excavation, PE drainage pipe transportation, construction sand bedding, PE drainage pipe heat fusion connection, pipe laying, pipe body backfill, pipe section pressure test, valves and well chamber installation, pipe trench backfill, pipe marking and water drainage test.

2.Connection operation method: PE drainage pipe connection method mainly has hot-melt butt joint and electrofusion welding. Hot-melt butt joint is the end face of pipe and pipe fitting heated to a molten state, with mechanical external force to bond it together. Electrofusion welding is the process of fusing and bonding the outer surface of the pipe to the inner surface of the pipe fitting by heating the pre-built electric wire inside the pipe fitting.

3.Valve and flange installation: In the installation of gate valves and butterfly valves, the packing and gland should be checked to ensure that the operation is flexible and accurate instructions. Flange sealing surface and sealing gasket should be checked to ensure that no defects affecting the sealing performance, flange end face should be kept flat, and gap error is no more than 2mm.

Construction Attention:

1. Material selection: Choose good quality PE drainage pipe material to avoid using low cost material which will lead to frequent replacement and increase cost. the thickness and specification of PE drainage pipe are different, which determines its service life and usage effect.

2.Environmental impacts: During the rainy season, drainage ditches and water retaining communities should be set up to prevent rainwater from flowing into the foundation pit. During the winter season, pipes should be installed and backfilled in time to prevent the foundation from freezing. Before welding, snow and ice should be removed from the pipes.

3.Handling of temperature difference: PE pipes have large thermal expansion and contraction, so the construction should take into account the change of ambient temperature to avoid deformation and displacement of the pipes. Pipes should not be located in the base diffusion angle of the structural foundation, and the groundwater level should be reduced to 0.3~0.5 meters below the lowest point.

4.Backfilling requirements: medium (coarse) sand or asbestos sand should be used for backfilling, avoiding the use of stones, bricks and other hard objects to prevent scratches to the pipeline. Backfilling should be carried out from both sides of the pipe at the same time to ensure uniform backfilling.
